TEXTBOOK DESCRIPTION
This booklet will cover Personal Entrepreneurial Competencies, Environment, and Market components of the Useful for Life Series Grades Seven and Eight that was based on the competencies found in the Department of Education Curriculum Guide of December 2013. These two components of the Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) are present in all areas under the Technology and Livelihood Education of the Department of Education K to 12 Program. That being the case, a separate booklet will be ideal in order to avoid repetition. The general objective of this booklet is to merely open a window to the world of entrepreneurship. The first lesson identifies the different roles of an entrepreneur and the attributes one should have to be a successful practitioner. It will include a set of questions to answer and to compare in order to gauge if one has what it takes to be an entrepreneur. The second lesson defines and differentiates environment from market. It will briefly discuss SWOT analysis and steps on how to conduct one in order to develop business ideas. Each lesson will start with activity to engage the students before the discussion of key concepts or ideas. This will be followed by a series of short questions and/or relevant activity to measure students' learnings. Entrepreneurship is a learning area in the Senior High School, which will require longer hours of discussion involving ideas that are more intricate. We hope that you can use whatever small ideas you have acquired from this booklet as a guide as you explore the different areas in your Technology and Livelihood Education class to identify which area complements your Personal Entrepreneurial Competencies the most.
